I am not sure why random things always happen to me but at least they make for entertaining stories! So last night me and my friend from school went out to dinner...had a good meal...when we went back outside to her SUV the passenger side window had slid all the way down into the door. We have no idea how it happened but it was stuck way down and the window button was working either. It was my friend's car so she was freaking out and obviously was nervous about leaving it overnight in the school parking lot because it's Rochester and people steal things. So I told her we should go to Wegmans and get something to put over the window so at least its covered (I know I'm brilliant!). We ended up buying a shower curtain and duct tape..I have never laughed so hard in my life! Thankfully we were able to pull the window up on the 15th try. We just jammed our fingers down there and yanked it up. The window kept sliding back down so we used the duct tape to tape the window up into the door. It was successful. Talk about a crazy Saturday night! But I guess if people have trouble with their car windows it is nothing that a little duct tape and a shower curtain can't fix!

I was having a conversation the other day and somehow we got on the topic of soup. Random, I know...but we were wondering how someone could possibly dislike soup?!? There is just no way. I mean, there are so many different flavors to choose from and I am sure everyone can find at least one they like. Soup has come a long way...I could eat it all day. Some of my favorites are creamy potato soup, cream of broccoli, french onion, and clam chowder to name a few. You just can't ever go wrong. And you could always pair it with a sandwich or salad or basically whatever you want! Soup haters are just ridiculous. I have yet to meet someone who doesn't like soup and honestly, I hope i never do. If you hate on soup I suggest that you go out and try a flavor..you may be surprised. Don't be a soup hater, no one likes that.

I finally got over the fact that my friend almost got hit by an SUV last saturday night at the St. Patty Day parade. I have never witnessed something like that before! It was pretty scary but thankfully she is alright. This is what happened...it was around 11pm and me and three other people were walking allll the way back to my car. We were at a crosswalk and my one friend just kept walking because there weren't any cars going. Then all of a sudden we see this SUV flying towards her so she started running to get out of the way which led her to bump into another car coming the opposite way. She didn't really hit the other car that hard..she was only left with a bruise on her knee, but let me tell you I was scared. I just froze in my place and really didn't know what to do. At least she knew that she had to run because if it were me, I would have just stood still and got hit and that would be the end of me pretty much! We were able to laugh about it after (only because she was OK). I am just hoping that something like that never happens again lol.

The St. Patty Day parade was really fun...not to mention the weather was great! It is about time that the weather cooperated for a big event like that. Rochester doesn't have that much going on like the St. Patty Parade so it is only fair that it turned out good. I guess there was around 80,000 people there. That boggles my mind..it didn't seem like it when I was there but then again I was in one main area the entire time. Everyone was in a good mood too which is always nice. Drinks were expensive but oh well it was worth it. The only bad part was that I felt like I parked 50 miles away from the bars and walking back to the car was brutal. It was so nice to see people I haven't really seen in awhile..that always puts me in a good mood. Overall I had a great time, I was all dressed in green and I ate some good good (who can complain about that?!). Since I had so much fun I am going out again for the actual St. Patrick's Day. I have to celebrate the little part of Irish that I have in me!

I can not tell you how excited/thrilled/shocked/happy I was last night when Ryan Secreast announced that the theme for American Idol this week was MICHAEL JACKSON. Not to be creepy but I absolutely love MJ (old school version). He is a legend and no one will ever compare to him. To my surprise a lot of the contestants did pretty well singing his songs...which made me even happier!! They did him justice...I wish he was there to perform but last I heard he was really sick over in Europe. My favorite performance was probably LiL Rounds singing the "Way You Make Me Feel" and Matt G. singing "Human Nature." I think that adam guy is wayyyyyy overrated and I wasn't really in to his song last night..call me crazy. I did want to slap Paula Abdul in the face though. I wasn't sure if she was going to make it after she was giving adam his awesome critique.

It is really sad that Michael Jackson is the way he is. Its a shame someone so talented got so weird as he got older. Very weird. There are so many people that still love him though (including me). It is about time American Idol did Michael Jackson week. I have waited 8 seasons for it! I had about 13 people text me last night asking me if I was watching because they know I am a huge MJ fan...how can you not be? Well...I just had to share my excitement of last night because I am still not over it haha.

I really just can't get into blogging. It feels like a chore to me...but that's obviously just my opinion. There are thousands upon thousands of different kinds of blogs out there and a lot of people love them. Maybe if I had a certain topic I was really passionate about writing then I could go on and on...but right now I have so many things going on that I need to worry about that blogging is at the wayyyy bottom. Oh well. I don't mind doing it every now and then. It is crazy to think that some people earn a living just off of their blog! That would never ever happen for me. My blog would and probably is the worst one out there. It is kind of weird to think about how anyone in the world can read what you are saying once you post something. People that you will never meet in your life; people that live in a different country even are able to read what you are saying. People can learn and follow information about others' personal lives. That is kind of creepy to me. I dont want strangers knowing about me or my life...sometimes I don't like people I know knowing certain things about me. But I guess that is how people learn to figure out what they want displayed publicly and things they want to keep private. Another thing that boggles my mind is how do people find the time in their every day lives to read all sorts of blogs and things of that nature?! I don't get it. Maybe if something was extremely interesting where I wanted to keep up with it all the time...but I know some people who read over 8 blogs a day. That is a little extreme to me, but again thats just my opinion. Well that is my little rant about blogging. I think it all just came from the fact that I had to write this to keep up with my assignment for my class and I really didn't want to! HA.

I just want to talk about how STRESSFUL job searching is!! I hate thinking about it. I feel like I am on this strict deadline schedule and that I have to find a job immediately. It is a little hard to be positive and optimistic when everyone I talk to or every time I turn on the news I hear about job losses and how no one is hiring. I am sure there are company's that are still looking for people but my god this is hard. I just want to find a job that I enjoy before I go insane. Not to mention all the cover letters and resumes that you have to send out hoping that yours will stand out above the rest. If my mom asks me about it one more time I might go insane. That gets me even more stressed out! Hopefully in the near future I will find a job and be happy with that start. But I am sure every other soon to be college graduate wants the same thing. Its every man/woman for themselves I tell ya. All I gotta say is....GOOD LUCK.

I am officially obsessed with Wall*E!!! I watched it in my digital literacy class this past Tuesday and I think it is the greatest thing ever. I definitely think it has a deep meaning about technology and what our world will become if we let technology take over. But Wall*E himself is adorable (yea that may sound weird but whatev I don't even care). The love story is so cute for any age level and there is nothing to dislike about the movie. Now I understand why it was nominated for an Oscar. In my opinion, there needs to be a balance between technology and human civilization and how we live. I don't think it is a good idea to have all this new technology determine how we act or live our lives. I feel that already, in some aspects, people are way to dependent on technology. We are losing that face-to-face connection and also our communication skills are going into the gutter. Wall*E was a good example of what people can become if technology were to rule the world. It is very interesting and I think everyone should watch it! I am most likely going to watch it again haha. I really hope that our world never comes to that but I think it will take a strong effort for people to realize when we need to depend on technology and when we should live as humans and use the tools that we have been born with. Don't let it happen!!!!!!

Ok I NEED to talk about the news story about the chimpanzee attacking that woman. How insane is that? I think it is so terrible and sickening to even think about it. Chimps, gorillas, or any other wild animals are not meant to be house pets! I just do not know what some people are thinking. You never know what may set of a wild animal and it is too difficult to tell if they are going to go crazy or not. I understand that this monkey was loved by the neighborhood and was well known, but when it comes down to it, a chimpanzee belongs in the jungle or a zoo. This woman that was attacked lost her hands and her face was mauled to the point that police couldn't tell if it was a male or female victim. I also heard that a chimp over 8 years old has the strength of 10 grown men! Can you even wrap you head around that.

If I was the one who got attacked that badly, I don't think I would want to live after. This woman's life is forever changed- she has lost both her hands and her face is destroyed. It is such a sad story. She just thought she was visiting a friend and instead gets attacked by a damn monkey. Thank god the chimp was killed...who knows what else would have happened. This is a prime example of why it should be illegal to own wild animals such as this chimp. Maybe people will understand why.

So today in my digital literacy class we were talking about the internet and what it is doing to people and our culture. It got me thinking a little bit about the changes I have seen. I think there are both positives and negatives about it. I think the Internet is a way of life for some people, but in my opinion there needs to be a BALANCE. I think some people get so consumed in it they are loosing their communication skills when face-to-face. I think people need to know when to use the computer and the internet and when not to. I love using the internet but I don't let it take away from my personal social life. I feel like nothing it intimate anymore and people hide behind a screen to make a point. A lot of my classmates felt the same and I found this interesting because we are from this generation. The internet is only going to continue to grow and although it is very important to learn new skills and technologies, it is also important to remember the other factors in our lives. I guess time will only tell how our culture turns out!

What the hell is up with the wind today?! Its awesome when I have to drive 25-30 minutes to school and I'm swerving all over the road like a crazy person. Not to mention I could barely pay attention in any of my classes because it sounded like the building was going to fall down. Oh well. I got through it right? I am so ready for Spring (as I am sure everyone is) it isn't even funny. I am tired of wearing boots and 500 layers of clothing. Another thing to add is when the spring comes it also means almost the end of school forever!! I can't believe I am almost done...it really does go by so fast. Looking back I have absolutely no idea where all that time left. And the terrifying part is I am supposed to be trying to find a job! YEA RIGHT. I have no idea where I am gonna end up let alone if I will even find a job with the way the economy is right now. I guess I will just have to wait and see..or else I'm left working a summer program at a school again. All I know is I wanna be done with school and moved into a cute apartment near or on park ave :)

So I just want to say that I am obsessed with American Idol. I have watched it every season and will NOT ever miss and episode lol. I think my favorite winners have been Kelly Clarkson, Jordan Sparks, and David Cook <3. I love Simon with a passion even though he can be a complete dick at times. It is hilarious to watch on my side of it though. If Simon wasn't on the show it wouldn't be as big as it is today. Paula is great too...how can you not like her? Even though she says some of the dumbest things I have ever heard she is a sweetheart. This season looks like its gonna be really good (even though every season is). There are some really good people on it..a lot of my favorites so far are mostly guys. I can't wait to see how brutal Simon is tonight. He has been lightening up lately in the past few episodes and I'm not really liking it. Also, I am still pissed that its only on for an hour instead of two. That is so not right. Oh well. Now I need to go get comfy to watch AI.

I was just thinking about how far we have come with technology and all the different things people find to do with it. There are countless numbers of websites that contain all sorts of information, there are social networking sites, videos, blogs, you name it it's there. The blog postsecret is a blog for people to let out their deepest secrets to thousands of people they will never ever meet. How crazy is that? Technology doesn't allow us to remain anonymous like we could before. People feel safe and secure enough to let strangers in on some part of their lives. That just amazes me. Maybe it is a big sense of release or weight lifted off their shoulders. I don't know if I would be able to do it...I would always worry that someone would find out it was me. On the other side however, I love reading this blog and you never know what you are going to see on there! Who knows what people will think of next to do on the Internet.

Each post I am going to write about one "secret" from the blog postsecret. I was reading through a bunch today and I thought the one that said "I miss my life drawing model more than my fiance" was interesting. It made me think of society and today and all the stereotypes we have. Who says we have to be a certain way or look a certain way? Why is it that we need to have perfect bodies or why do we need to be with someone who has a perfect body. I feel like in some cases we automatically put people who "look perfect" up on some platform that we can't reach. We easily forget who we are and what we want or what we have. This postcard on postsecret made me wonder does this person miss their life model because of they way he/she looks? Is it that longing for something they can't have? In my mind models look a certain way and I can only take a guess that this model being talked about is very good looking. I wonder if the person telling the secret actually had strong enough feelings to leaver his/her fiance? Or if the model would feel the same? That would really be some ending if the person left their fiance and the model didn't want them...I am sure that would send the person back to reality. I really love reading the posts on postsecret because I get to escape my own world for a little bit and take a peak into other people's lives. And the cool part is that I am becoming closer with people I will never meet.

What makes someone decide which secrets to let out to others and which ones to keep in? Secrets are known to be private, sacred. Sometimes people chose to share their secrets with their closest friends and loved ones. In today's society- the digital society- there is a way for people to let out their biggest secrets (maybe these secrets have been haunting them or weighing them down) on the internet. They can remain completely anonymous and anyone in the world can read them. Amazing isn't it? There is actually a way for people to incorporate their personal lives onto a blog that can be accessed by anyone all over the world! This blog is going to be about the blog called Postsecret and what is shown on there. I believe that this blog site is helpful and also very interesting to many people. Also, some people use this site as a form of release and escape from their own problems.
